Directed by Anthony J. Hamilton

Thurs.-Sat., May 18-20, 7:30pm.

Sun., May 21st, 2pm.

Nelda K. Balch Playhouse, 129 Thompson St.

Dad’s an architect; Mom rushes to pack lunches and pour cereal; their daughter and son are bright, wise-cracking teens, appearing to be a typical American family. And yet their lives are anything but normal because the mother has been battling manic depression for 16 years. Next to Normal takes audiences into the minds and hearts of each character, presenting their family’s story with love, sympathy and heart.

Next to Normal is presented through special arrangement with Music Theatre International, (MTI). All authorized performance materials are also supplied by MTI. ww.mtishows.com.

Dear Friend of Festival Playhouse:

Thank you for your patronage! We look forward to seeing you at our spring production Next to Normal by Brian Yorkey and music by Tom Kitt, directed by Anthony J. Hamilton. The show runs May 18-21, 2023, in the Nelda K. Balch Playhouse, 129 Thompson St. on campus.

General notes:

Patrons are encouraged to reserve tickets online, rather than getting them at the door. Please arrive at your scheduled time to insure efficiency at the box office.

To insure patrons' and our company members' safety, we continue to follow and update COVID protocols, and no longer require proof of vaccination for admittance. Wearing a mask is optional at this time.

Patrons arriving late may be seated only at the discretion of the House Manager, so please plan to arrive at the theatre at your chosen arrival time (selected when you reserve your tickets on line) which also helps to reduce congestion at the box office. The doors to the lobby will open at 6:45 and to the house for seating at 7:10, with a curtain time of 7:30pm sharp.

There is no food or beverage of any kind permitted in the space. COVID precautions are in place. If you are ill, we respectfully request you notify the Company Manager, Laura Livingstone-McNelis, at 269-337-7333 and remain home that day.

Ticket Policy

If you are unable to use your tickets, kindly inform us as soon as you are able so we might offer them to others interested in attending. Email Company Manager, Laura.Livingstone-McNelis@kzoo.edu, and thank you for your consideration in advance.
