Policies for Festival Playhouse of Kalamazoo College
COVID-19 Social Contract
I acknowledge that I am aware of certain risks of participating in public events due to the COVID-19 pandemic, and that I am choosing to enter the venue my tickets are purchased for. I understand that by leaving my home, I am exposing myself to a greater risk of becoming infected with coronavirus, or of infecting other people. In order to do my part to not spread this virus, I agree to not enter the venue and to return home if (a) I have a temperature of 100.4 degrees or above, (b) the venue's medically trained professional determines that I may not safely enter the venue, or (c) there is reason to believe I carry the coronavirus despite the current absence of symptoms. If I enter the venue, I agree to strictly follow all health and safety rules the venue has posted, which are designed to protect patrons, workers, and performers.
Refund and Exchange Policy
There are no refunds on tickets - all sales are final.

No ticket exchanges done on day of show (for that day's show). Other exchanges can be made by contacting the box office.
General Policies
We are committed to providing an unforgettable experience for all guests, staff and artists in a safe and healthy environment. To ensure the highest standards of cleanliness and safety, we have developed a COVID-19 Safety Plan, which follows the guidelines of the Center for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), the Michigan State Department of Health and Federal Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) related to COVID-19, along with stringent Actors Equity Association (AEA guidelines).

Please note that all guidelines and policies are subject to change in accordance with government mandates and recommendations.

Below are some of the basic safety measures we will be implementing:

Vaccinations

As per updated AEA guidelines, we will no longer require those entering the theatre to provide proof of vaccination.

Mask Policy

Wearing a mask is optional for all those who enter the theatre. We thank you for your understanding as we continue to practice improved safety and cleanliness standards.

Complimentary masks will be made available at the door as needed.

Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning

Working with our Heating, Ventilation and Air Conditioning (HVAC) experts, we have worked to find the best solution for our space to meet government requirements for indoor gatherings.

Hand Sanitizing Stations

Hand sanitizer dispensers have been installed at our entrances and several other locations on our premises. These will be maintained by the sanitation attendant on duty.

Restrooms

Signs have been posted inside the restrooms reminding guests of proper handwashing procedures.

Arriving for a Show

Guests can arrive at the theatre up to 45 minutes before the show time. We ask that you arrive close to your selected arrival time to prevent bottle necks at the bo office. There are no reserved seats, and all seating is on a “first-come, first-served” basis. Once at the theatre, guests will be guided to their seats in the theatre or should wait inside the lobby, or outside on the Nelda K. Balch Playhouse Patio. Certain areas of the lobby will be used as a “flow of traffic” area, not a waiting area. House Management will make special accommodations for guests with disabilities who may need more time to enter the theatre. If possible, we request that guests notify the box office of any such need for special assistance at the time of ticket purchase and/or by calling 269-337-7333.

Guests who have exhibited any of the symptoms of COVID-19 within seventy-two hours of their reservation must call our box office at 269-343-2727 for help rescheduling tickets.

Streaming

Not all shows are livestreamed, but for those that are, a livestream will be available for viewing during the Friday performance of each production. A link to watch that livestream will remain active until the close of the production.

Personal Belongings

Guests are discouraged from bringing large personal items, bags, or backpacks with them to the theatre.
